HIV by stabbing

Last night’s knifing rampage caused by a young Neuköllner may have more sideeffects for the 28 victims of his attack.

Apparently, one of his first victims has HIV and the blood drawn might have infected the others.

Talking about seriously fucking up people’s lifes. First they survive the attack (some only by emergency surgery), and then you have to deal with four weeks of unknown because that is how long it takes until you can test for the HIV virus.

This is an unbelievable tragic and horrible act.

Authorities ask people involved to immediately see medical expertise at Charité Campus Mitte or Campus Rudolf-Virchow-Klinikum.
Even if victims got in touch with some blood of the infected, it is possible, but not necessary they also got infected.

If done in time, a postexpositional prophylaxis is possible, but I’m far from an expert on this.

    Yeah, unbefuckinglievable. :(

I heard too that it takes three to four weeks to get results on HIV. And the attacker now claims that he does not remember a single thing.
