“Ohne Argentinien fahrn wir nach Berlin”

A classic from 2002, but still funny as hell.

Quarterfinal Ticket Exchange

Are you Ukrainian or Italian and you have tickets for the Berlin quarterfinal Argentina vs. Germany?

Now here is your chance to exchange your tickets for two tickets to tomorrows game in Hamburg feat. Ukraine vs. Italy. My friend Sebastian has two tickets in Category 2 for this game and would like to change them for two tickets for the Berlin game. In case you’re interested, contact him directly via E-Mail.

Ticket exchange has to be here in Berlin. Good luck!

The Love is back – and more

The event I was always more looking forward to than the actual Loveparade is also back: The Fritz Loveradio.

A little explanation:
The Fritz Loveradio took place on the Loveparade weekend and was my personal highlight. Local radio station Fritz had 50 of the best djs in electronic music have a dj set for one hour each at a nice location. It was broadcasted on the stations of Fritz and you could also go there for free.
The Fritz Loveradio took place in 2004 for the last time, even though the Loveparade itself was dropped.

But now it’s back! Although in a different form. It will be broadcasted on the stations of Fritz as usual (102,6 MHz in Berlin) but it’s not an actual event you can attend (maybe again next year?).
It’s taking place from Friday, July 14th, 8 pm till Sunday, July 16th, 2 pm. It’s a few djs less than the former 50 but the lineup is still pretty good.

Shops and closing hours

I’ve ranted shared my opinion about the shop opening hours a few times and since Kaisers decided that not enough people came to spend money when the store is opening longer, they close at 9 PM instead of 10 PM. And who are we not to appreciate what they do for us?

Since then, 9 PM has been madness at the store.

There are (too) many people queing up, and I just waited almost 15 minutes in line because they just open one cashier. Imagine people paying with the debit – well, that’s another two minutes. Or if someone wants cigarettes, that’s another three – at least, an expensive bottle of liquor – well, she has to fetch a key for that and run all across the store. And while a single lady is busy billing everyone, the other Kaiser people just ignore the customers waiting and try to look busy.

Talking about supply and demand. Or how to make the customer pay for not coming right away. That’s just what we get, and that’s what they sell us as extended service.

East Side Gallery to be moved

Yay for brands! O2 (“oh two”), king of all cease and desist letters (Hey do you own a Domainname which contains *o2* – watch out!), sponsors an arena near Ostbahnhof. So far – no news, but in order for visitors of this arena to be able to access the Spree (coming from the arena), the East Side Gallery needs to be moved.

History makes room for commercialism.
