Watch the sand sculptures, grab your tickets
Today, the sand sculpture festival Sandsation is opening and taking place for the 4th time already. If you hurry and visit the festival within the next couple of days, you can still witness the sand carvers finishing their sculptures, as they need to be done ’till June 16th, when the best pieces will be awarded prizes by the jury and by the artists.
I really like the atmosphere on and among all that sand (more than 2000 tons for ground and sculptures!). During a hot day with such great weather as lately, it doesn’t even feel like in a big city.
On weekends from 2 pm, adults and children can try this out for themselves in sandcarving workshops.

If you happen to come to Berlin from one of the countries participating in the world cup, you can get free entry for the festival. You only have to show a hand full of sand and your flight ticket. The sand doesn’t really have to come from that country, you just have to claim it. ;)

If you are not a weird person carrying a bag of sand around when going to a football world cup, we still can help you. I talked them into giving us 3×2 tickets to give them away to the best-looking female readers, yay!
Just kidding. You can also be male and ugly-looking. It’s the personal qualities that matter, remember?
You only have to send me a message with the subject “Sandsation” and your name. The district/city/country where you come from, would also be interesting.
Good luck!
