1:0 and delicious

i can’t claim to be an actual football fan, but this world cup is providing a fine excuse to hang out with friends and bask in the communal glow of victory (or soak in the misery of defeat!). This evening found me with a few comrades, watching Brazil beat Croatia, while enjoying a tasty paella at Lafil, a spanish restaurant at Gormannstrasse 22 in Mitte. Their fine spanish cuisine was the closest we could find to brazilian food on short notice and the restaurant had two large screens showing Ronaldinho and company as they edged past Croatia for their eighth world cup win. Lafil’s owners also have another eatery, Yosoy, a tapas bar just around the corner on Rosenthaler Strasse, and are currently holding a raffle – first prize being a weekend for two in San Sebastian!
