The Love is Over (til next year)

1,200,000 crazed and half naked party people took over the Straße des 17. Juni on Saturday afternoon to dance (and drink, and drink) until almost midnight! This LoveParade 2006 was professionally organized and sponsored by local fitness chain McFit...ah how the times have changed…

Ich bin kein Berliner

Don’t miss Fritz Loveradio

I can certainly not say it often enough: The awesome Loveradio on radiostation Fritz is taking place again, after a one year break.

This means, if your music taste is just remotely related to good electronic music, you will have to tune in between today, July 14th 8pm and Sunday, July 16th 2 pm. You will get dj sets by well known djs like Paul van Dyk, Westbam, Woddy and lots more. Fritz is broadcasted on 102,6 FM in and around Berlin.

The bad news is: Unfortunately the Loveradio is no more a public event at Café Schoenbrunn, so there is no need to go to Volkspark Friedrichshain.

Wanted: 2-3 room flat in Prenzlauer Berg

I want to move and you’re going to help me!

We’re looking for a 2-3 room flat/apartment in Prenzlauer Berg that should be suitable for 2-person flat sharing, bright and not too loud but also not too far away from things happening.
We have more ideas, but I will not say to not exclude too much.

If you have any proposals, please let me know through a comment or my contact form. I’m looking forward to any answers, even if they are not perfectly matching with what we have in mind.

The person suggesting the apartment we’re finally picking will be paid drinks ’till he/she can’t walk straight.

Ueber Berlin

just in time for the LoveParade

Google Video is up and running auf Deutsch! Now german speakers can also upload their own special moments to the video search engine. but careful with those handycams, google will be checking all entries for pornography or obscene material before they appear online. no word yet whether competitor YouTube will be grabbing their .de domain from the squatters…

Bombay bombing coverage

I just read about this incident this morning when I flipped through the news – terrorist bombings left 190 people dead. Our sister blog in Bombay/Mumbai will tell you more.

Galerie Andreas Wendt
at Zehdenicker Str. 13 (the corner of Weinbergsweg – UBahn Rosenthalerplatz) is hosting ‘Kaputt in Hollywood’ – a group exhibition showcasing four young artists from Berlin and beyond. Marcus Wittmers’ sculpture ‘Heroes also have bad days’, picturing superman crashing headfirst into the sidewalk, currently stands outside the gallery and will be amusing parents and children until the second of september.

Sitting and working here I can hear the kids from next door scream play. Football seems to be more than ever the game of choice.

And everybody wants to be Ronaldinho. I don’t here anyone claiming the German football stars of the last four weeks, notably Poldi or or .

Telekom house

This house is located at Leipziger Strasse and was build by the Deutsche Telekom (German Telekom), supposedly it can change colors and just about everything on the out- and inside. It is full of gadgetto gadgets – I haven’t tried it, but if you are a journalist or somehow fortunate enough you can get admission and stay over night.

If you care for some of the insights check out Heiko’s blog post about it – it’s impressive. Especially for the gadgets and technology loving folks.
