Schoeneberg on a Saturday
This morning For lunch I met some people from work and an ex-colleague with family at the Cafe Bilderbuch (Cafe Picturebook) in Schöneberg (Akazienstr.). Cafe Bilderbuch is a pretty nice place to chill and take a rest on a Saturday or Sunday morning. They have this huge library of books, current papers and lekker breakfast to get the day started.
For me this place with all the books and atmosphere makes me feel like visiting my grandparents, and spending a or two day inside reading and thinking about life in general and maybe in particular…
It seems that Cafe Bilderbuch is maybe a tick too crowded on the weekends and getting your order you can master a bit of patience, but still – the atmosphere makes it worth while.
Especially when you have relatives (your mom!) come visit in big bad Berlin, you can take them there and show them one of the slower and relaxed sides of the city – instead of taking them to the edge in Neukölln, to the children- and couples-polluted streets of Prenzlauer Berg or to the very mittig people in Mitte.
And once you step outside Cafe Bilderbuch, you should get one of those great coffees at double eye just 50m down Akazienstraße. The cortado is just muy delicioso – and probably one of the best outside of Spain.
