guns for hire

We all know that demonstrations are a very Berlinish thing, so if you ever wanted to bring your point accross and mobilize a lot of folks, here’s your chance.

Using the Berlin-based Internet plattform erento.com, you can hire people to join your demonstration cause. A demonstrator costs between €10 per hour and €145 flat flee – but I wonder what is included in this. Rioting, stones, general mayhem? The website doesn’t state…

One of the profiles hints that the demonstrator does not like right-wingish propaganda, so she wouldn’t show up if you tried to promote that. But I guess that except for the really extreme topics, you can buy people and make them say anything you want.

On one of the more recent events in Berlin (December, 2006), doctors from all over Germany were demonstrating for higher wages and better working conditions and it’s said that they already used erento.com as well. So in a way, if you are too busy working, you can hire someone to express your opinion for you. All this and more made possible by the Internet – you just wouldn’t believe it…

Demonstrations are the bane of my Berlin existence.
There’s nothing like being stuck in a car (or tram) on Seestrasse for 2 hours because some fuckers with placards are blocking the street.
Fuck them. And fuck Berlin for allowing this shit to take place.
    Have a nice day! :)

Muha! Yeah, being stuck and getting yelled at by the Police to move away because they think you are part of the fucking thing.
