When you get a coffee somewhere in the morning, there’s always people chatting. Especially with the nice weather at hand they all seem to go outside to occupy the cafes and little coffee shops in the neighborhood.
So one thing that’s just too common and very stereotypical for this picture are discussions about politics. So here’s some stuff to keep in mind since most of us like to engage in chats bitching about “those politicians” (up there) and since we like to take democracy for granted.
29th March, 1936: Adolf Hitler receives 99% of the votes in a referendum to ratify Germany’s illegal reoccupation of the Rhineland, receiving 44.5 million votes out of 45.5 million registered voters. Only three years earlier (in 1933) all political parties and political liberty had been abolished.
