Sometimes …

… it’s good not to win every top list. So for example Berlin doesn’t lead Germany’s list of cities with the highest crime rate – it only came in 5th. Congrats to us!

The list is as follows (city name and criminal offenses per 100,000 people):

  1. Frankfurt, Main: 16,378
  2. Düsseldorf: 14,989
  3. Bremen: 14,719
  4. Berlin: 14,632
  5. Cologne: 13,991
  6. Hamburg: 13,566
  7. Dortmund: 11,478
  8. Essen: 9,291
  9. Stuttgart: 9,289
  10. Munich: 8,861
