More Cut & Paste

I posted already a follow up to my cut & paste experience – last night I decided to create a Flickr group and invited people from L.A., NYC, Chicago, Portland, London and so on to share pictures from around the world, and some of them came.

Check it out yourself:

If you got pictures from Cut & Paste in your city (any year), please join up.

Umziehen ist zur Zeit ziemlich schwer. Wenn jemand Hinweise auf 2 Zimmer in 36 oder Friedrichshain/Ostkreuz hat, dann bitte kommentieren oder E-Mail an klimpong-bei-gmail-punkt-com.

Moving places in Berlin seems to be pretty hard nowadays, but if anyone knows about 2 room flat in 36 or Friedrichshain/Ostkreuz, please let me know (through comment or via email to klimpong-at-gmail-dot-com).

Eben sitzen in Friedrichshain, bei gefühlten 10 Grad (in richtiger Richtung), Menschen -draußen-, auf der Straße (OHNE HEIZPILZ) und nuckeln genüßlich an Ihrem Kuchen und futterten dazu ihren Milchkaffee. Ne, ne, ne.

Cut & Paste Impressions

So I went to Cut & Paste Berlin – and what can I say? Well, all of the participants were really good. But I always thought the thing was more live and had more of a battle, but the contestants knew the topics (currency, sugar overdoze and public spam) like two or three days in advance.

It was kind of weird how some people advanced to the next round and others did not. The moderators were tools, but oh well – I guess they tried their best. The jury people could have tried harder – like when you are asked to comment, SPEAK THE F UP. :)

So all in all, atmosphere didn’t really make it to the show so the crowd wasn’t on fire, really. It was interesting all in all, I am just not convinced that it was worth all 8 bucks.

My absolute favorite of the night: , watching him design was like watching a movie. Kick ass.

A competition entitled “The most beautiful ABC of the world” (“Das schönste ABC der Welt”) which was held in Berlin awarded the Turkish “yakamoz” the title, the most beautiful word of the world. The jury selected it from almost 2500 words.

“Yakamoz” means “the reflection of the moon in water”. The Chinese word “hu lu” (to snorr) came in second. The African word “Volongoto” (Baganda tribe), which means messy or chaotic, was voted third place. According to the jury, they selected “yakamoz” over the others because in Turkish one is able to express in a single word, what can only be expressed in other languages using multiple nouns.
