Interesting article and I agree with what you say.
I&#039;m not sure how it is possible to give children choice without limiting their horizons though. They are just like adults in that every decision they make cuts out other possibilities. Can school possibly give them room to develop in every direction?
Maybe it doesn&#039;t matter too much which subjects they study. Those with open, searching minds will seek out alternatives. The rest will learn something about what the adult world thinks is important.
But I could be wrong about this.
